We don’t accept any discrimination towards any individual or groups of individuals at any of our festivals.

Irrespective of the background of the individual, be that gender, race, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity. We are proud of the diverse nature of our festivals and their customers, if you see or experience anyone undermining this – no matter the severity – please report it immediately to one of our onsite staff.

We take all reports of discrimination and harassment seriously.

It is not acceptable to grope, threaten or harass others. If this happens to you, speak out and we will help you.

Sexual assault is never the victim’s fault but there are things you can do to keep yourself safe – choose your crew carefully, look out for each other, be aware of how you are affected by sun / dehydration / alcohol / drugs / not eating properly.

Consent should be enthusiastic – then you know it really is consent. Consent is complicated, but this is the easiest way to think about it.

If you need to get out of a situation, just leave, don’t feel embarrassed. Ask security or stewards for help.

Safe Gigs for Women are onsite at many of our festival this summer. They will provide a great deal of support and advice to anyone that visits them, whatever your gender.

ASK FOR ANGELA

We are supporting the Ask for Angela campaign, which is operational across all our festivals and is briefed to all staff members, including security, stewards & bar staff. Ask for Angela is an initiative aimed to provide support in a discreet manor for anyone experiencing harassment of any kind. Customers are encouraged to go to a member of bar staff or security and ‘Ask for Angela’.

There are plenty of security, stewards and staff on duty, all of which wear uniquely numbered tabards. For any emergencies, locate a member of staff, who will be able to assist or locate the correct assistance.

If you need to contact the Korps Nationale Politie to report a non-emergency crime or to provide information on a crime while at the festival, please call 101.

Emergency:

  • Emergency number: 112 (free of charge)

Non-emergency (questions or make an appointment):

* Calls will cost 2 cents per minute plus your phone company’s access charge.

Tips for police investigations:

Police station:

Fill in your location on this page to find the nearest police station.

  • Decide on a meeting point with your friends. Choose a time and place to meet up later in case you get separated from each other
  • Learn the layout of the site so you can easily find toilets and stewards
  • Keep your phone charged in case you’re separated from your friends
  • Stay hydrated. There are tested drinking water points throughout the arena which are free to use
  • For a full list of what you can and can’t bring into the site, please visit Event Info
  • Keep your wits about you. Drink responsibly and know your limits. It can be hot – wear a high factor sun cream.
  • Security measures are in place, which may include metal detectors and sniffer dogs, at all entry gates. Large bags are not allowed to be taken into the festival. There is no cloakroom. Small bags are allowed into the festival with the dimensions W21cm x H30cm x D8cm. We appreciate your cooperation and patience when entering the festival
  • Festival stewards are here to help you. Don’t be worried about asking for help in any situation, whether it’s asking for directions or to report something or someone you’re worried about
  • The Welfare Tent is open throughout the event and is staffed by experienced and supportive people. They can provide confidential advice about drugs, alcohol, legal highs and sexual health, and offer support if you need to talk. They offer a monitored rest and recovery area if you’ve overdone it. Please go to the Welfare Tent if you experience any problems or need to talk to someone for any reason
  • Strobe lighting – pyrotechnics, lasers, smoke machines, strobe lighting/special effects may take place during some performances
  • All sites have a festival firefighting team who are fully equipped to deal with fires. There are also fire extinguishers positioned throughout the site.

Do not bring illegal drugs or ‘legal’/psychoactive substances to the festival. You may be ejected from the event and be handed over to the police. See the previous drop down for our evictions policy.

The contents of legal highs are toxic, even plant-based ones. They are untested on humans and they do kill.

The use of any gas canisters or nitrous oxide (NOs) is banned across our entire festival site. If found with them, or using them, you will be evicted from the site immediately and potentially banned from other events promoted by How We Roll Festival  and HWR Presents.

The Welfare Facilities will be open throughout the event and are staffed by experienced and supportive people who understand festivals. They can give confidential advice about drugs, alcohol, legal highs and sexual health and offer support if you need someone to talk to for any reason. They offer a monitored rest & recovery area if you’ve overdone it and they also care for lost children and vulnerable people.

There are medical tents on every site open whenever the site is open to the public. You can find their location on any site map.

There are doctors, paramedics, first aiders and fully equipped ambulances based out of the medical tent.

If you need to bring medication with you, we recommend bringing a copy of your doctor’s letter or prescription. There will be a fridge available in the medical tent if you require cold storage for your medication.

Heavily pregnant visitors are advised to contact the medical team on arrival at the event to ensure you are aware of the services on offer.

Due to the potential for hot weather, we will have water spray hoses to cool people down from the pit.

There will be a number of security initiatives at How We Roll 2024.

  • This includes, visible security presence on the perimeter and entrances from the event venue and onwards. The new security coordinators will oversee and manage all relevant companies and any operational activity.
  • How We Roll Festival has a pre-agreed eviction policy with the police in place.
  • Please note – everyone attending the event will be required to pass through sniffer dog teams, airport-style metal detectors and undergo both body/bag searches as a condition of entry. We reserve the right to refuse admittance to any person who refuses to be searched by a steward or other person acting on their behalf. Please be advised that you may have to queue upon entry so we ask that you are patient – these plans are in place to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable event.
  • If you have an incident with a security guard, steward or any other member of our staff that you wish to tell us about, please make a note of their tabard number and/or the name on their pass so we’re able to identify the member of staff in question. You can make complaints onsite in person at the Information Tent and Welfare or via email to info@howwerollfest.com. Please include as much information as possible, including a description, tabard number & colour, location, date and time. All security and stewarding staff onsite are briefed on the complaints procedure.

If you have lost a child, please immediately contact a member of staff or police officer, or go to the Welfare Facilities.
